Worship Centre Acquired!
Hello WINONTARIO Members and Friends! Finally, we have completed the purchase of our worship centre! This means that, after so many delays with the closing due to certain regulations and requirements, we can finally walk into 1314 Britannia Road East, in Mississauga and claim it as our new home.
A few months ago, this undertaking seemed all but impossible! Raising the initial funding, applying for the proper zoning, and then arranging for financing seemed like giant steps requiring gigantic faith and sacrifice. It’s a great thing that we have a God who specializes in the impossible! And giants are no match for Him!
The journey is still far from over though. We are currently applying for the renovation permits so that we can make the place worthy of the God we serve and worship. We are still in need of funds for the renovation and the furnishings. As a church, we still need to come together and continue believing that God can provide as He had in the past while at the same time working as hard as we can to pave the way for God’s miracle.
While this is a great story of God’s faithfulness for our church, I am encouraged by the personal testimonies that I have been hearing about and cherishing in my heart. I heard that many of our part time workers, on their own, have given back the love offering they receive from our church so they can contribute to our Project David Fund. I heard that our collection a few Sundays ago was one of the highest we had so far. I hear of individuals wanting to quit their part time jobs so they can bake and sell while all the proceeds go to our fund. How about our board and other ministry members who spend hours and sometimes even sleepless nights on planning meetings, preparing applications and drawing plans! I am sure these are only a few examples of the many other stories of sacrifice and generosity embedded in this endeavour we have taken. Indeed, God is good! And we are blessed with committed leaders, workers and members. I am privileged to be pastoring a great church.
Lastly, one of the first things we would like to do as we enter this place is to acknowledge the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness as we embarked on this journey. We will be having a prayer and praise meeting on Saturday at 9am and we would love for you to join us and celebrate with us!
