It’s Time to Move!

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Josh 1:7-9 NIV

In a few weeks, we will be realizing something that a few years ago was just a distant dream. We will be moving into our new home. This is truly an exciting stage in the life of our congregation. But changing venues is not the real key to our success. The key will be how we continue to put the Lord first in everything that we will do. The Book of Joshua offers us a timely reminder of these times of transition.

Focus on the Word of God, Meditate on it, Obey it

Be strong and courageous

Do not be terrified

Do not be discouraged

We can do all of these because we have been given a promise – “The Lord will be with us wherever we go”. And where the Lord promises His presence, He also promises His power and provision.

I do believe that God has great things in store for our church. Will there be problems? Yes. Will there be difficulties? No doubt. Will our faith be tested? Certainly. Will there be times when we would be tempted to give up? You can count on it! The Lord never promised us it would be easy. But He promised His PRESENCE, His PROVISION, His POWER.

Then what are we waiting for? Let’s move!
