On October 29 and November 19, 2017, the Member Relations (MR) Ministry held orientation sessions and meetings with its members at the WIMO Center and Living Arts Center.
Sis. Charity Nopuente, as the newly appointed MR ministry head, began the sessions by asking us about our experiences when we first attended WIMO and what made us stay as members of this church family.
The participants enthusiastically shared a mix of funny, surprising, and inspiring stories.
We then were able to redefine the ministry including its role and scope in pioneering guests and members’ church experience. Specifically, there will be a Welcoming Team now which goes beyond ushering by intentionally engaging guests and members in conversations to build genuine relationships. However, we are reminded that the relationship does not end after the service. There will be a Security Team assigned to monitor and ensure order and safety of our members and guests. There will also be a Member Services Team connecting guests and members to the iWin portal, social media, and lifegroups; and assisting enrollment to membership, ministry and discipleship classes. The ministry will also endeavor to achieve a welcoming ambiance and in charge of refreshments in the banquet hall before the service. More so, guidelines and plan of actions were immediately set and agreed upon such as call times, schedules, use of name tags, knowledge of emergency tools such as first aid and fire extinguishers among others.
The meetings concluded with a renewed sense of WIMO’s vision and mission. We remembered our early days in this church; how the Lord through church accompanied us in our high and low moments, and how they still walk hand in hand with us in the rest of our journey and in the fulfillment of His calling and purpose for our lives. So if you want to be part of sharing the love of Jesus by welcoming and engaging visitors, making sure we maintain a safe environment for our church family and become part of a member’s journey in becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, come and join our team!
