Perfect For Me – A Testimony on Junior Youth
Just last year, I was still in Sunday school, and though I was still being taught about God, the lessons felt like they weren’t for me anymore. Several weeks before Junior Youth came into play, I attended my very first youth camp and the experience was amazing. I became a Christian during the prayer worship at Youth Camp. After that, I “graduated” from Sunday school and started attending the Torch Bible Studies. Until Christmas last year, the Junior Youth held their first session and I was part of it’s very first batch.
Soon, I realised that the Torch Youth lessons weren’t for my level of spiritual maturity yet. I was caught at a point where I was too old for Sunday School, yet not mature enough for Torch Youth. This was until, one day, I was told that there would be a class for me and that three other people close to my age. I was excited about this and I kept asking when it would start. The first meeting was held during the New Year service at North York church, and it’s been almost a year ever since.
I like being in the junior youth because God has used it to work in my life and to teach me more about Him. The teachers do each lesson in a fun, creative, and easy-to-remember way. They are also perfect for my life, I could feel God speaking to me through the lessons and telling me how I should act. I always enjoy the Junior Youth sessions. The sessions helped me become a better Christian and learn so much more about God. I’m so excited to learn more about how God wants me to live my life and my current prayer for our group is to do an outreach event one day.
I learned a lot from the Junior Youth ministry and I’m happy to be a part of it. Whenever I’m facing problems, the lessons help me to solve them the way that God wants me to solve them instead of doing what I think is right. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). I feel like God is guiding me through the challenges that I face using the Junior Youth ministry and I can’t wait for our future sessions.
