Life is wild, God is good – Vacation Bible School 2019

From July 12 to 14, the Children’s Ministry held an energy packed and fun filled weekend of games, activities, lessons, and the Word of God during our annual Vacation Bible School.

Over the course of two days, teachers and volunteers alike dedicated their time and energy to teaching children about how good and wonderful God truly is no matter what circumstance. Whether life is unfair, scary, changing, sad, or even good, God remains the same – He is good.

To top off the weekend, on Sunday, July 14th, Pastor Jong preached to both children and adults alike, how good God is, no matter what life throws at us, with an interactive demonstration. The demonstration included the deconstructed ingredients of a cake, illustrating that all these “bad” or “off tasting” things, when placed in the hands of the right baker, who mixes the ingredients correctly, and places it in the oven with the right temperature and timing, that the end result will be a delicious cake. The service was capped off with a graduation ceremony to highlight the attendees of VBS.

Even as an adult and a teacher, these lessons are such wonderful reminders that no matter what circumstance we are in, that God is good and that He remains the same and that He is always there for us. It’s always refreshing to see how eager and excited children are to learn about the Word of God and His goodness and it’s a good reminder too, for teachers and those who have already graduated from Sunday School, that we should always remember how God good is and how wonderful it is to live in His presence.
